Baruc nos enseña su casa en AD
En un diáfano loft, justo enfrente de El Retiro en pleno Madrid, Baruc ha establecido su casa-oficina, y el número de marzo de la revista de arquitectura y diseño AD recoge un amplio reportaje fotográfico de este espacio donde el diseñador da rienda suelta a su lado más artístico.
Baruc siempre ha creído en un diseño inteligente, y al igual que ocurre en cada una de sus prendas, la funcionalidad y atemporalidad son características básicas en este estudio, las cuales encajan a la perfección con su visión de la estética, lo bello es sencillo.

Koons, Murakami, Vasconcelos
It´s always good when good friends make it. And my dear friend Joana Vasconcelos will make it big in 2012 at Versailles. After the american Jeff Koons and the japanese Takashi Murakami now it´s the portuguese artist´s turn to turn Versailles upside down with her gigantic talent. Will she take the huge tampon-made chandelier to the royal chambers? Or the famous shoe made of ordinary steel pans to Versailles´s gardens? We´ll just have to wait and see and with Joana one must always expect the unexpected. Parbéns! (congratulations in portuguese)

Coincidiendo con la celebración del 5º aniversario de la apertura de Harvey Nichols Dubai en Emiratos Árabes, Baruc Corazón ha entrado a formar parte de este estandarte del lujo en el Middle East.
Para tal especial ocasión Baruc ha creado una mini colección exclusiva para estos emblemáticos almacenes, cuyos orígenes, que se remontan a principios del siglo XIX, fueron los de una pequeña tienda que vendía textiles de gran calidad, como sedas, linos y tapices que provenían de Oriente.

You know I can´t resist a classic with a twist, and that´s just what the new trend of nail polish is: it´s the classic nail polish, only matte. It seems such an obvious idea that one may wonder how nobody came up with this idea before, but that´s the thing about good ideas: most of them are surprisingly simple. SIN ETIQUETAS
Poco amigo de etiquetar sus prendas, Baruc ha dado un paso más en el planteamiento de que la etiqueta no es imprescindible. Y esto, por dos motivos: el primero es que la etiqueta no cumple función alguna, y el segundo, y más importante, es que la etiqueta no cumple los requisitos de sostenibilidad que Baruc exige en sus creaciones, ya que ésta sólo puede hacerse en poliéster.
Por ello Baruc ha encontrado la solución más coherente a sus principios: ha eliminado la etiqueta y le ha dado todo el sentido a una pieza fundamental de la camisa, el canesú, con el cual ha conseguido personalizar directamente sus prendas aportándoles un mensaje a transmitir.

The first time I was impressed by the work of Canada, a directors collective from Barcelona, was with El Guincho´s "Bombay" videoclip: a melting pot of images, concepts and out of the blue situations, that created all together an exquisite visual experience. Now they did it again with Scissors Sisters´s Invisible light videoclip. Opposite to Bombay´s videoclip ( what a tune!), in this case the music is the least important thing but the videoclip is a non-stop avalanche of scenes inspired by film classics and so many sophisticated visual references that it´s impossible not to watch over and over again. Dissecting the dandy
This is the very well chosen name of the latest Nordiska Museet exhibition in Stockholm, Sweden. Conceived by the design studio Form Us With Love, the exhibition literally dissects the dandy, presenting "his" parts separately. Each module explores a different part of the body: the head, the legs, the feet and so on. Yet it´s not the body parts that matter, but how dandies throughout history cover them, giving the public and exquisite choice of jackets, hats, waistcoats, shoes, cases, etc. It´s a simply clever exhibition and a well deserved homage to the art of dressing properly. A must see until next May.

Night-Life: Le Cabrera
When it comes to night life, I’m always like: been there, done that, got a t-shirt... I’m staying home! So it’s always exciting when something new (and good) opens in Madrid. Le Cabrera (www.lecabrera.com) is a 2 in 1 in many senses: first, it’s a gastro bar under the orders (and good taste) of the chef Sergi Arola and also a cocktail bar full of irresistable temptations created (and recreated) by Diego Cabrera. Then, it’s a space where the new meets the timeless style of cocktail bars, an unique retro-trash atmosphere imagined by the oppulent Luis Galliussi. And last, but not least, a place where all the waiters wear clothes by the classic-nouveau brand El Ganso, and many clients wear my shirts (spoted a few last time I went there). Definitely, a must go.

Done with all the presentations, here’s my point: JR achieves what all
creators look for – the perfect balance between form and function. In terms of
form, the aesthetic of his work in magical – everything, from degradeted walls
to old trains become a work of art, with his large format prints of faces and
eyes. And in terms of function, the result is even more impressive – he calls
out the attention for all the social problems that concern him in a way that
few ONG’s can brag about. Kudos for Mr. JR.

piece “For the love of God”, to talk about something serious: whoever creates whatever, is used to deal with copies,
forgeries and “freely inspired” items: you have an idea, make it real, someone
sees it, likes it, takes profit from it. “Can’t afford the original? No
problem. Here’s one that looks just like it!.” Really? Is it really the same? A
piece of art is nothing without its creator’s soul and a copy has no soul. Same
thing with clothes: you can copy the patron, buy the same or similar fabric,
make something that looks like the real thing but it will never get even close
to the real thing. So do yourself a favor: stick to the original. You will look
much better.
